Selfies, buffet and spa: What Gujarat Congress MLAs are doing in Bengaluru resort
More than 40 legislators of the Congress from Gujarat have been herded at a luxurious resort in Bengaluru. While the party is firefighting, the MLAs are enjoying buffet meals, free spa services apart from clicking selfies at the golf course of the resort.
The MLAs from Gujarat along with leaders of the Congress in Karnataka are being guarded behind closed doors of the resort in Bidadi in Bengaluru rural district, the constituency of D K Suresh. The luxury resort has Royal Club Suites, Club Suites apart from regular rooms overlooking the swimming pool or the Golf Course.
A single occupancy Deluxe Room at the resort is Rs 5,000 upwards excluding taxes and service charge. Room tariff ranges from Rs 5,000 to 7,000 for regular rooms alone. The suites run into Rs 12,000. While none is allowed inside the resort, pictures being clicked by the MLAs themselves are being circulated. While the party leadership scrambles to keep its flock together, Gujarat legislators are having a ball of a time.
"They are our guests. All Congress MLAs from Gujarat are here. Some of them want to visit a few temples and we are in the process of chalking out a program schedule for them. They will stay here for a few days and do some sightseeing. Karnataka is a calm place and that is why they have chosen to come here," said Congress MP D K Suresh, under whose watch the legislators have been kept. He also expressed confidence about Ahmed Patel's election to the Rajya Sabha.
