New Delhi, Oct 20: It looks like Finance Minister Arun Jaitley is in trouble for his statement against the Supreme Court verdict.

Reportedly, a court in Mahoba district of Uttar Pradesh has asked the police to file a sedition case against Jaitley who had criticised Court's decision, striking down the National Judicial Appointments Commission (NJAC).

The district Court told police to register an FIR under Section 505 (false statement circulated with intent to cause mutiny or offence against public peace) and Section 124 (a) (sedition) of the Indian Penal Code against Jaitley.

AS per the Hindu report, the civil Judge Ankit Goel also summoned the Finance Minister for a hearing on November 19.

The Mahoba district Court maintained that Union Minister's statement on Facebook was an ‘anti-national act'.

"The Indian democracy cannot be a tyranny of the unelected and if the elected are undermined, democracy itself would be in danger",

Reacting to Apex Court's judgment striking down NJAC, the Union Minister had said, "The Indian democracy cannot be a tyranny of the unelected and if the elected are undermined, democracy itself would be in danger".
