Sanjay Leela Bhansali's much talked about Padmavat - starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor has finally hit the screens amid high-security cover. Theatres screening the movie has the deployment of police forces in case of violence and vandalism which had already happened during the making of the movie.
From bounties on heads to murder threats to movie starts and attack on Bhansali, Padmavat has seen it all and perhaps the reason for the sense of fear in the minds of theatre-owners and viewers.
Many who came down to watch the movie spoke to Oneindia and condemned the acts by Karni Sena - which had objections to the release of the movie, and said that there should be creative freedom in a democratic set up like India. Many also said that creative freedom should not be absolute and the sentiments of people should also not be hurt.
However, the threat perception surrounding the movie was evident as most halls refused to put up Padmavat posters in spite of screening the movie.
