Secretaries row: Kejriwal blames BJP, Congress to justify appointments
New Delhi, June 15: Justifying appointments of 21 MLAs as parliamentary secretaries Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday (June 15) went ahead to appeal the ruling government, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) not to interfere in the governance of Aam Admi Party (AAP) in Delhi.
In a press conference Kejriwal said "when the BJP used to have Parliamentary Secretaries, then its 'legal' but when we do it, it is termed as 'illegal'. He also took out past 5 year parliament secretary documents saying "in 1997, BJP CM in Delhi also appointed parliamentary secretary, Congress also did same during former chief minister Sheila regime." Arvind pointing this asked was it right then?
Kejriwal even defended his party MLAs by saying that "our party MLAs are educated as we have doctors, engineers as party leaders. This is the reason why Delhi people voted AAP party to win with thumping majority."
While targeting the BJP government Kejriwal said that "there is severe crisis of water and electricity in major parts of Delhi as we have not been provided with sufficient resource to meet the crisis."
Former Delhi Chief Minister,Sheila Dikshit reacting to the press brief said that "its all dependent upon the Election Commission over its rule and regulation. "
"When it comes to appointment of parliamentary secretaries, Kejriwal does not have a valid moral argument. He is constitutionally and legally wrong to insist for the appointment of 21 parliamentary secretaries "Dikshit said.
Kejriwal also said that "if BJP have any wish to slap me then they can go ahead but please spare our party to work in better way."
At last he said "want to request Prime Minister Narendra Modi with folded hands that do whatever you want to me but don't let the people of Delhi suffer."
