The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed plea filed by advocate ML Sharma seeking deletion of certain scenes from the movie Padmaavat, saying "film has been cleared by CBFC and the court will not go into the issue again."

This is the third petition filed by Sharma against Padmaavat. The two previous petitions filed by him were dismissed by the Chief Justice.

" We had ordered deletion of some paragraphs from your pleading and that does not affect the movie which has now been cleared by the CBFC in its present form", a bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justices D Y Chandrachud and A M Khanwilkar told petitioner and lawyer Manohar Lal Sharma.

On January 19, the SC refused to hear a PIL by the same lawyer, Sharma, seeking cancellation of the censor board's clearance for the nationwide screening of the film "Padmaavat" as it could create massive law and order problems.

The six paragraphs were on the story of Queen Padmavati and the events surrounding her.

While erasing six paragraphs, the court by its November 20 order had said, "Pleadings in a court are not meant to create any kind of disharmony in the society which believes in the conceptual unity among diversity."

The court in its order had said, "...what has been struck off by this court should not be used otherwise."

The controversial film, which is opposed by some so-called 'Rajput pride' groups, released on January 25 after months of protests and sporadic violence.
