It is Ready to Wait vs Right to Bleed and Right to Pray in the Sabarmala temple entry rights matter. A woman's group has now to filed an application to intervene in the matter in which another group had sought permission for women in the age group of 10 and 50 to enter the Sabarimala temple.

A petition had been filed in the Supreme Court against the rules of the temple which bars the entry of women in the age group between 10 years to 50 years. The petitioners said that such rules comes in the way of the Right to Pray. However, a Chennai based organisation called the People for Dharma moved the Supreme Court stating that they were ready to wait until the age of 50 to enter the temple.

Petition filed over entry in Sabarimala

The group said that women who were questioning the rules were self appointed champions of the rights of women devotees. "The 'feminist' petitioners' have no clue about the scientific and philosophical basis of a temple and false and foolishly equate the process of Sanatan Dharma with inborn discrimination in Semitic religions," the group also claimed.

The Supreme Court will take up the matter in November. A three judge Bench headed by Justice Dipak Mishra is expected to take up the matter for hearing after November 7 when the court re-opens after Deepavali vacations.
