Ruckus during vote of confidence: Madras HC directs govt to hand over videos

While hearing a PIL filed by DMK to declare the vote of confidence null and void, the high court asked the government to part with videos of the ruckus that broke out on February 18. The Tamil Nadu assembly secretary told the court that a copy of the video will be furnished accordingly.

The Madras High court had asked for the video recordings of the assembly to be submitted two weeks ago but the government had failed to do so. When the PIL was taken up for hearing on Friday, M K Stalin's counsel complained to Acting Chief Justice Huluvadi G Ramesh and Justice M Sundar that despite specific directions from the court, the government had failed to submit the video. Taking note of the complaint, the court asked for the videos to be handed over.
