Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Agrawal's office receives threat call over controversial remark on 'Hindu Gods
His comment came during the discussion on rising number of lynching incidents in the name of cow protection.
Samajwadi Party leader Naresh Agrawal's office on Thursday recieved a threat call over his controversial remark on Hindu Gods in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday, said reports.
Some members of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha also blackened the SP leader's nameplate outside his residence in the national capital.
Agarwal remark linking the names of Hindu Gods to alcohol had led to an uproar in the Rajya Sabha with the BJP leaders strongly objecting to it.
The BJP and other NDA members rushed towards the Well of the House shouting slogans and demanded an apology from the SP leader. Agrawal later withdrew his remarks after which it was expunged from the records of the House.

His comment came during the discussion on rising number of lynching incidents in the name of cow protection. Parliament witnessed noisy scenes during the discussions which deteriorated further after Agrawal's remark.
Finance Minister Arun jaitley said that the SP leader "would be liable for prosecution if he had made the remarks outside the House" and demanded his apology.
The Samajwadi Party, however, ruled-out an apology, saying that Agrawal had withdrawn his remark.
