RJD chief Lalu Prasad shifted to Ranchi's RIMS
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav was brought to Ranchi's Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences on Tuesday. He was discharged from Delhi's AIl India Institute of Medical Sciences yesterday where he was undergoing treatment for various ailments related to heart and kidney.
The RJD chief was admitted to the hospital on March 29 and a medical team comprising six doctors was then formed to decide his course of treatment.
In a statement today, AIIMS said the RJD supremo's condition has improved significantly and he was, therefore, being referred back to the Ranchi Medical College. Doctors said the leader was fit to travel.
The hospital's move, however, didn't go down well with Lalu or his family. Speaking to reporters following his discharge, Lalu claimed it was a "political vendetta", also claiming his life was under threat.
