The Supreme Court today rejected a review petition that challenged the discharge of BJP's National President Amit Shah in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh encounter case. A review plea had been filed after the Supreme Court in August discharged Shah from the case.

Sheikh, a gangster and his wife, Kauser Bi, were killed while travelling from Hyderabad to Sangli near Gandhinagar in 2005. The Mumbai sessions court had on December 30 2014 discharged Shah in the case.

Harsh Mander, a social worker had challenged before the Bombay High Court the verdict of the sessions court. The High Court too had refused to into merits of the case on the ground that Mander was not an aggrieved party in the case.

Following this he approached the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court while rejecting his plea observed," when the person is genuinely aggrieved then the issue takes a different colour but when the person is not remotely connected and wants to revive the case then it's a different matter."
