In a letter written to Delhi Chief Secretary MM Kutty, chairman of Environment (Pollution and Control) Authority Chairman Bhure Lal wrote that the restrictions which were imposed on entries of truck except for those with essential commodities and construction work have been lifted after Delhi showed substantial improvement in the air quality for the last two day, and moved from 'Severe Plus' category to 'Very Poor'.

Parking fee was also raised to curb traffic congestion in Delhi - leading to pollution, this restriction has also been removed.

However, EPCA took on the Delhi Government for its inability to enforce the measures taken by EPCA to curtail the air pollution in the national capital. The EPCA wrote in the letter, referring to the Delhi Government's inability to implement the measure to hike parking fee - for which the measure had to be lifted. It wrote,

"This is because EPCA has been informed of the problems in effective enforcement of this measure and that has led to increased parking on the road, which adds to traffic congestion. EPCA believes this is because lack of enforcement and that enhancement of parking fee is an important car-restraint measure. However, this measure has been made ineffective partly because of the lack of enforcement of illegal and unauthorised parking. These problems will need to be sorted out urgently so that this measures can be re-imposed with effective enforcement."

The other measures by the EPCA remains, and will b reviewed as the air quality starts improving.
