Republic TV-Jan ki Baat exit polls gets the numbers right
Republic TV-Jan ki Baat exit poll is the closest to actual result announced on Tuesday. The exit poll predicted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would get an an edge over Congress. On the eve of the voting, Jan ki Baat predicted 95-114 seats for the BJP and 73-82 seats for Congress, whereas 32-43 for Janata Dal (Secular).
The BJP emerged as the single largest party with 104 seats followed by the Congress which got 77 seats. And the JDS remained in the third position with 37 seats.
Most exit polls say that Karnataka would head towards a hung assembly. Barring two pollsters all the rest predicted a hung house.
At least five exit polls had given the edge to the BJP, while the remaining have said that the Congress would surge ahead. While the India Today-Axis poll gives the Congress 106 to 118, Times Now-Today's Chanakya gave the BJP 120 seats.
C-Voter exit poll predicted that BJP would win 103 seats, Congress 93 seats and , JD(S) 25. and Others 1. This poll had given advantage to the BJP, saying the Congress would finish second. JDS is expected to remain a distant third.
