Remove 'Sindh' from National Anthem, then we will sing it says UP Madrasa
The teachers and the students sang 'Saare Jahan se Accha Hindostan Hamara'
A Madrasa in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh has made a unique request. They want the word 'Sindh' taken off the National Anthem if they have to sing it. The renowned seminary Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulema celebrated the Independence Day on Tuesday.
The teachers and the students sang 'Saare Jahan se Accha Hindostan Hamara' followed by special prayers for the safety and prosperity of India. This has been a tradition since 1947 to offer special prayers and it was followed this year too.
A cleric in the Madrasa Nadwa Maulana Khalid Ghazipuri Nadwi, a cleric however said that they did not sing the National Anthem.
This is because it has the word 'Sindh' in it. Sindh is in Pakistan and we cannot pray for the prosperity of that country, the cleric also said. We will sing the National Anthem proudly if the government removes the word 'Sindh' from it, he also added.
