Ravi Shankar Prasad hosts Live Talk on MyGov
Communications and Information Technology Minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad, hosted a live talk on MyGov and answered questions posed by citizens.

He spoke about transforming India and said that India is known now in the world today as a country of one billion plus people with digital identity and mobile phones. While answering a question he said that in expansion of Digital India common service centres are going to play a crucial role. He added that they provide digital services to people in villages.
He informed the citizens about government's plan to bring a digital payment bank at the door step of poor people through India Post Office Payment Bank. This he said would transform India. He added that this bank will be a game changer for financial inclusion by facilitating direct benefit transfer to poor people.
He also talked about government working to enable 1.35 lakh Gramin Dak Sevaks to use latest technology such as smart phones and bio metric handheld devices.
The Minister also informed people about the turnaround of BSNL. He said that in 2004 when the first NDA government lost power BSNL was making profit of Rs. 10,000 crore. In 2014 when UPA government lost power it was making a loss of Rs. 8,000 crore. Thankfully when one year of Narendra Modi's government was over BSNL again starting making operating profits.

He also informed that those people who have any issues related to his ministry can contact him on social media where he is focused on resolving issues faced by customers. He also threw little light on the UMANG App that will soon be launched. It will be a unified app for various government services which will prove very helpful for the citizens.
About quick clearance of issues he said that policies such as spectrum sharing, trading network sharing VNO were pending for many years. Within two years the government has cleared it all which is an example of good governance.
For those who are worried about sharing of their biometric data given for Aadhaar Card he said tht biometric data of Aadhaar can't be shared with anyone even after the consent of Aadhaar owner is obtained.
He informed that present government is setting up BPOs in small towns to provide employment to youth in small towns and thereby ensuring that they feel no need to migrate to larger cities for jobs. This is one way in which the government is transforming India using technology.

Giving one more example of how technology is helping shape India he said that in the last two years mobile manufacturing has grown by 83% and it has created 50,000 new jobs.
He ended the live talk by sharing happy news with the people and said that manufacturing sector had grown by 9.3% last year this despite the gloomy global economic scenario.
