Ramanaidu's demise left a void in Telugu film industry: TN Guv

Chennai, Feb 18: Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah today expressed shock over the demise of multi-lingual film producer Daggubati Ramanaidu who died in Hyderabad today and said the passing away of Dada Saheb Phalke Awardee has left a void in the Telugu film industry.

"I am deeply shocked and grieved to hear about the sudden demise of Daggubati Ramanaidu, the veteran film Producer, Padma Bhushan, Dada Saheb Phalke Awardee and a Parliamentarian", Rosaiah, who hails from Andhra Pradesh, said in a Raj Bhavan release.

"The Telugu film industry has lost a great person. He was closely associated with me and was known for his act of philanthropy. He won an array of awards and produced 150 films in 13 Indian languages creating a Guinness Record of producing the highest number of films by an individual," Rosaiah said.

"The passing away of the legend has left a void in the Telugu Film industry. I convey my sincere condolences to the bereaved members of the family and to his rasikas. I pray to God to rest his soul in peace," he said. 78-year-old D Rama Naidu, who made memorable films like 'Ramudu-Bheemudu', 'Srikrishna Tulabharam' and 'Premnagar' died in Hyderabad following protracted illness.
