Ram temple issue: Sri Sri Ravi Shankar meets UP CM Yogi Adityanath
Spiritual leader and Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravishankar met Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath at his residence in Lucknow on Wednesday.
This comes as the spiritual leader has ramped up his efforts to mediate in the Ram Mandir- Babri Masjid dispute and has asserted that he would meet "all stakeholders" to resolve the matter.
Earlier on Tuesday, Sri Sri had told reporters that he would pay a courtesy visit to the Uttar Pradesh chief minister. "It was out of my own will that I was involved as a mediator in Ram Temple issue," the spiritual guru said.
Congress had dubbed Sri Sri as a "government agent". Congress spokesperson Tom Vadakkan had said the Supreme Court made it very clear that a settlement was possible, but he asked to who had appointed people like the Art of Living Foundation chief to take charge.
Meanwhile, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) voiced doubts over Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's efforts to resolve the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute in Uttar Pradesh and said he would not succeed in his mission.
