New Delhi, July 21: The verdict in the Ram Mandir case will be delivered by September. The Supreme Court has reserved orders on a preliminary matter.

The matter pertains to a 1994 ruling vis, a mosque is not an essential aspect of Islam and namaz by Muslims can be offered anywhere even in the open.

The Bench headed by Chief Justice of India, Dipak Misra said that it would need to examine this as a preliminary issue after senior counsel Rajeev Dhawan submitted that the 1994 verdict needed re-coonsideration.

On Friday there was ruckus in the court whether after senior advocate, C S Vaidyanathan appearing for the Hindus objected to Dhavan's submission made last week in which he had said Hindu Talibans had demolished the Babri Masjid.

While the verdict on the preliminary issue would be out soon, the judgment in the final matter is likely in September. Justice Misra required on October 2 2018. Prior to his retirement he would have to deliver verdicts in several crucial verdicts which include, the Constitutional validity of Aadhaar, the Sabarimala women entry case and also the on the Ram Mandir.
