Raksha Bandhan: MP youth tie rakhis to railway tracks to ensure passenger safety

In a rare gesture several youth in Madhya Pradesh decided to tie Rakhis to railway bridges, tracks and also railway equipment. The youth said that this was done to ensure the protection and safety of railway passengers.

The ritual has been going on at the Vidisha town for long now. The Rakhis were also tied to the train loco pilots or drivers and the assistant loco pilots who passed through the railway station today. The group of youth asked the staffers to ensure the safety and security of the passengers.

Raksha Bandhan has been celebrated through the country today. Earlier in the day both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President of India, Ramnath Kovind wished the country on the ocassion.

The gesture by the youth from Madhya Pradesh is a unique one. It comes in the backdrop of several rail accidents being reported over the past two years. While a few cases are being probed by the National Investigation Agency as a terror link was found, others were found to clear accident cases.
