Amarnath terror attack: Ajit Doval briefs PM Modi on Kashmir situation
National Security Advisor Ajit Doval has briefed Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the situation in Kashmir following a high-level meeting with Home Minister Rajnath Sinsh.
Seven Amarnath pilgrims were killed and 19 others were injured in a terrorist attack in south Kashmir's Anantnag district on Monday.
In the wake of the terror attack, Union Home Minister Rajanth Singh on Tuesday held a high-level meeting at his residence. IB director, NSA, RAW chief, home secretary-designate Rajiv Gauba, MHA officials attended the high level meet.
The high level meeting which began at 10 am at Rajnath Singh's residence discussed the security arrangements for the pilgrims after barbaric attack in Amarnath which killed seven people and injured nineteen.
Meanwhile, J-K governor NN Vohra and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti paid tribute to the victims who lost their life in the barbaric attack on pilgrims. A meet to review security in Srinagar toto take stock of the situation.
Officials from Army, BSF, J-K police attend the meeting. MHA has rushed Senior MHA officials including MoS Home Hansraj Ahir and JS Kashmir Gyaneshwar Kumarto Srinagar.
The CM also met the victims and in a fresh statement issued on Tuesday Mehbooba termed the incident as 'gruesome' attack. Shocked and anguished over attack, Mehbooba said.
A helicopter sent by MHA to airlift bodies of those killed in Amarnath Terror attack to Surat has reached Srinagar.
Earlier on Monday, terrorists killed seven pilgrims and injured 14 others, including policemen, when they struck at a bus carrying them.
