Rajasthan reels under scorching heat, 46 degrees recorded in Sriganganagar
The MeT office has forecasted a dry weather with a possibility of severe heatwave conditions over the next 48 hours.
Jaipur, Apr 16: A severe heatwave swept through the desert throwing normal life out of gear in Rajasthan.
The minimum temperatures saw an increase of 2 to 4 degrees Celsius as compared to Saturday.
Sriganganagar was the hottest place in the state with a maximum temperature of 46 degrees Celsius, followed by Barmer (45.8 deg C), Churu (45.5 deg C), Bikaner (45.4 deg C), Jaisalmer (45.1 deg C), Kota (44.3 deg C), Pilani (43.5 deg C), Ajmer and Dabok (43 deg C each) and Jaipur (42.8 deg C).
The minimum temperatures too witnessed a surge at a few places with Ajmer recording 28.2 degrees Celsius, followed by Barmer (27.8 deg C), Jodhpur (27.5 deg C) and Dabok (27 deg C).
The MeT office has forecast a dry weather with a possibility of severe heatwave conditions at several places in the state over the next 48 hours. It has also forecast warm night conditions at isolated places in the western parts of the state.
