Railways to change rules to prevent misuse of unreserved tickets
New Delhi, Jan 28: The Railway board has decided to change the rules to prevent misuse of unreserved tickets from March this year.
It has been found that many commuters use the same unreserved ticket for short distance trips throughout the day.
According to new rule as stated in a notification issued by Vikarm Singh, director passenger marketing, one has to commence his journey within 3 hours of the departure of the train or issuance of ticket.
From March unreserved tickets will be sold with validity.

The Railways launched facilities for booking of paperless unreserved tickets as well as platform tickets to cut queues at the reservation counters in October last year.
Indian railway has introduced new rules including cancellation, prevent misuse of senior citizen concession and quota recently.
