A day after Rahul Gandhi spoke about waiving-off farmers' loans and setting up food processing units in Madhya Pradesh, state's Minister of State for Cooperatives Vishwas Sarang has likened Congress president's speech to the one made by the character of Chatur Ramalingam in the movie '3 Idiots'.

In the movie, Chatur Ramalingam inadvertently makes a hilarious speech after certain words in the speech's script were replaced by protagonists of the film. Without understanding the meaning of the replaced words, Ramalingam goes ahead with it at a college function and becomes a lauging stock. The scene sends across a message that undersatnding a subject is more important than mugging up the text books for the sake of marks.

"Rahul Gandhi's speech was dramatic, scripted and immature. There were no facts and data. He talked about setting up food processing units in the district. Only a week ago Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister had talked about food processing. It seems the writer of Rahul's speech has taken a cue from that," an NDTV report quoted minister Vishwas Sarang as saying at a press conference in Bhopal.

Rahul Gandhi was in Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh, yesterday to meet the family of the farmers who were killed in police firing during last year's protest. He also addressed a rally there in which he assured that Congress would waive-off farmer loans within 10 days if voted to power in the state. Rahul also said that Congress wants to transform Madhya Pradesh. He said Congress would set up food processing units close to farms so that farmers can sell their produce easily.

Asserting that the Congress is concerned towards the plight of the farmers, Gandhi said his party wants to free the state from the clutches of "Shivraj, Modi and RSS".

Hitting back at Rahul over his Mandsaur speech, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said in his face post, "Every time I listen to the view of Shri Rahul Gandhi, both inside and outside Parliament, I ask myself the same question - How much does he know? When will he know?"

On Gandhi's accusation that Prime Minister Narendra Modi waived the loans of Rs 2.5 lakh crores of the 15 top industrialists, Jaitley said this it is completely false. The government, he said, has not waived a single rupee due from any industrialist.
