Rahul can't run parallel govt, says BJP after Sidhu defends his Pakistan 'hugplomacy'
New Delhi, Aug 21: Shortly after Sidhu's press conference, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra lashed out, saying that the Congress president cannot run a "parallel government" in the country.
Patra said Sidhu has implicated India by hugging the Pakistan Army chief and instead of explaining his act he is lecturing us over peace.
"Rahul ji you cannot run a parallel government in this country, Diplomacy is the prerogative of the central government. Any decision pertaining to the well being of the country will be taken by the government at Centre and not at the state, let alone a minister in the state cabinet," Patra said.
Patra further added that Sidhu's visit looked like an attempt to "implicate India".

"Whatever is happening between India-Pak it is the responsibility of India. Nobody has said no to peace. India has alway stood for peace. But if someone tries to stab India in the back it will not be accepted," Patra Slammed Sidhu.
"Have you opened a Pakistan desk in India? Sidhu is trying to preach 125 crore how India has a 'chhota dil'. What is happening? I am asking this not as BJP spokesperson but as a normal Indian who is annoyed today by tha appalling behaviour of your party," Patra said launching a blistering attack on Rahul Gandhi.
So for Congress, our Army Chief is 'sadak ke gunde' and Pakistan Army Chief is 'sone de munde'?, he further questioned.
Navjot Singh Sidhu had been widely criticised for his presence in Pakistan. He was also slammed for hugging Pakistan Army Chief.
However, Sidhu has claimed that his visit was a personal visit and he didn't go as a politician but, as a friend.
