With reports claiming that Ratan Tata's name features in the graft case against Isreali PM Benjamin Netanyahu, the top Indian Industrialist's office has said the references about Ratan Tata are "grossly incorrect".

Ratan Tata

Israeli police on Tuesday recommended indicting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for bribery in two criminal investigations. Netanyahu is accused of receiving illegal expensive gifts from Hollywood producer Arnon Milchan and Australian businessman James Packer.

Israeli media outlet Ynetnews had reported that Tata was part of the project that Netanyahu tried to push to help Milchan.

The news report is "grossly incorrect in its references about Mr Ratan N Tata", the industrialist's office told news agency Press Trust of India (PTI).

Last year, the Israeli media had reported that Tata "testified" before the Israeli police in connection with these allegations during his trip to Tel Aviv in the end of October-November on the sidelines of a business event, an NDTV report said.

However, Netanyahu, prime minister for nearly 12 years has claimed innocence. Netanyahu has dominated Israeli politics for the past 10 years, and is known as an implacable survivor of Israel's rough-and-tumble leadership fights.
