Bengaluru has been witnessing hefty pre-Monsoon rains for the past many days, as the Monsoon 2018 is nearing. In fact, the city has already surpassed its monthly average rainfall of 107.4 mm. Till now, the city has recorded 194 mm and it seems that there are quite high chances wherein the city may record double of its average mean. These rains can be attributed to the several weather systems prevailing over and around the region.

Pre-Monsoon rains to intensify in Bengaluru, as Monsoon 2018 nears

As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, a cyclonic circulation is persisting over the southern parts of Kerala. An upper air trough is also extending from this system up to South Madhya Maharashtra.

Simultaneously, a low -pressure area also lies over the southeastern parts of Arabian Sea off coastal parts of North Kerala and South Karnataka. It is anticipated that this weather system would intensify into a well-marked low-pressure area in the next 24 hours.

With this, conditions would remain favourable for more rains in Bengaluru in the next 2-3 days. Not only this, these systems would also be instrumental in bringing the Monsoon surge over Kerala initially and soon over Bengaluru.
