Prakash Javadekar rubbishes audio tape, says Congress indulging in dirty politics
Union Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar on Friday rubbished audio tape released by Congress' VS Ugrappa in which Janardhana Reddy offers Raichur MLA Basanagouda Daddal a plum position and an exponential increase in assets.
Speaking to media, Javadekar said,''This audio CD is one of the handiworks of Congress' dirty tricks department. This is a fake CD.''
He also accused Congress of indulging in dirty politics.
The Congress party on Friday released an audio clip allegedly of mining baron Janardhan Reddy in which he is trying to lure Basanagouda Daddala, its MLA from Raichur Rural, by offering him money and minister portfolio.
VS Ugrappa said, "Janaradhana Reddy clearly says he has the backing of BJP President Amit Shah for doing horse trading."
In the audio clip, Janaradhana Reddy lured Congress MLA Basanagouda Daddal with position and money.
The development comes on the eve of the Yeddyurappa-led BJP government going for a floor test.
The BJP has emerged as the single largest party with 104 seats, followed by the Congress with 78, JD(S) with 37 and three seats have gone to others in the 224-member Assembly where elections were held for 222 seats. The majority mark is 112 seats and the post-poll alliance strength of the Congress-JD(S) combine, which claims to have 117 MLAs, has alleged foul play in the Governor inviting BJP to form the government.
The Supreme Court on Friday ordered a floor test in the Karnataka Assembly at 4 PM tomorrow, drastically slashing the 15-day window given by the Governor to BJP Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa to prove majority.
