PM Narendra Modi salutes 'Mission Prabhughat' volunteers for cleaning Varanasi Ghats
Varanasi, April 2: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, April 1 appreciated the efforts of Temsutula Imsong, a young social worker for her dedication to clean the ghats in Varanasi- one of his pet projects in his parliamentary constituency.
On being praised by none other that PM himself, Temsutula told a news agency, "I am from Nagaland state and have a small NGO here and I do social work. I don't know exactly why he praised me but I work among rural people and maybe that is where we connect. When we saw the tweet, we were very happy and more inspired."
Yesterday, PM Modi took to the micro-blogging site Twitter to share his appreciation of Imsong's work on Twitter.

Imsong works with a voluntary social organisation called 'Sakaar Sewa Samiti'. She has been part of a campaign called 'Mission Prabhughat' which seeks to clean the ghats in Varanasi and inspire people to keep their surroundings tidy.
[Ganga revival in Varanasi: High on promises, low on action]
Cleaning Varanasi is a dream ambition of PM Narendra Modi. Through social media, Temsutula has initiated a campaign called #MissionPrabhughat, to spread more awareness about cleaning the ghats of Varanasi.
According to a report, common people can become a part of the noble campaign, that was started in February this year, by joining the team through WhatsApp number - 08765674329 and the email address - [email protected].
Another volunteer of Mission Prabhughat is Darshika Shah, who revealed how she and her friend Temsutula's boat ride incident changed their lives.
In a blog published in Dailyo, Shah has mentioned, "It was February 12, the day Temsutula Imsong (from Nagaland) and I were taking a boat ride along the Ganga. As we were about to pass Prabhu Ghat, the unbearable stench assailed our noses. This was a bit of a shock, since we had heard a lot about the ghats being cleaned up. We decided to take a walk and see for ourselves."
"Temsutula Imsong and I contributed funds. We don't know how, and it always brings a smile to our faces, but we managed a sum of Rs 10,000", she wrote.
