New Delhi, March 22: After a busy election schedule, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took solace in poetry on the occasion of World Poetry Day celebrated on Tuesday. "On #WorldPoetryDay I congratulate all poets, budding & established for their efforts to popularise this splendid medium of expression," tweeted PM Modi.

Celebrating the myriad colours of poetry, the PM said, "Poetry is at the heart of the oral tradition, giving voice to countless people across the world and bringing out their magnificent creativity."

The 66-year-old Bharatiya Janata Party leader did not just praised the art form, but also shared some of his verses for his fans on Twitter. The PM, who is known for his powerful speeches, is also a popular poet.

"I have occasionally penned my thoughts through poetry. The book 'Sakshibhav' is a collection of some of the works," he tweeted.

Like PM Modi, a few of our former PMs including Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Late VP Singh, to name a few, used to write powerful poetry while heading the country. Now, who says politics and poetry don't go well together? PM Modi proves everyone wrong, once again.
