PIL in SC to double number of judges

The long pendency of cases in courts, especially in the subordinate courts and the way our criminal justice system is working has forced many to lose faith in judiciary.

As per the petitioner, judicial reform is very necessary to secure fundamental right of fair trial and speedy justice.

The petitioner has requested the Supreme Court to issue a direction or order or writ including writ in the nature of mandamus or an appropriate writ, order or direction as may be necessary.
