New Delhi, May 30: The pigeon from Pakistan may be a racer bird after all. The pigeon which was found in Pathankot in Punjab was detained after some suspicious transcripts were found written on its wing.

It may be a racer pigeon after all the deputy inspector general of police of Pathankot informed while also assuring that the bird is being fed well. The bird now faces two possibilities- if found guilty investigations will continue to trace down the persons who sent the bird over. In case it is found to be innocent, the bird will have a good life in India.

Nothing to suggest so far that bird is a spy

The police in Pathankot have been burning the mid night oil to find out whether this bird is a spy or a racer. All evidence so far suggest that the bird is a racer and there is not a single indication to show that it could be a spy from Pakistan.

We are not taking any chances and will complete the investigation. The bird will be with us until the investigations are completed, the officer says. The police are taking good care of the bird and are feeding it, the officer also assured.

After the bird was found and taken to the police station, it was put under a scanner. An x-ray was conducted and no chip or any other suspicious object was found on it. The only area of suspicion was the writings on the wing of the bird. It was initially suspected that these were phone numbers but later the police realized that they were not.

The problem however is that the inscriptions in Urdu are not clear. Despite all efforts it is just not clear what exactly has been written on the bird. Until the police find out exactly what has been written on the bird's wing the investigations would go on.

Bird trouble for police

This is not the first time that a bird has caused so much trouble for the police. On March 29 a bird had caused a similar problem. A pigeon was found near the India-Pakistan coastal border at Gujarat.

On close verification it was found that the bird was a Benjing Dual which is in high demand as they take part in races. The scare was caused because the bird had a chip attached to it and also some Urdu inscriptions.

While on the leg of the pigeon there was a chip attached with the number 28733 on the wing the security agencies found Rasul Ul Allah written on it. On discovering the pigeon a report was immediately dashed off to the Home Ministry which asked the agencies to look into the matter.
