New Delhi, May 29: Congress general secreatry Digvijay Singh's son Jaivardhan Singh got married on Tuesday, May 19.

He tied the nuptial knot with Sreejamya Shahi, daughter of Shattrundam Shahi, a member of the royal family of Dumaria in Bihar's Gaya district. She studied in Mayo College Girls in Ajmer and is pursuing her CA.

Jaivardhan completed his MBA in rural development from America's Columbia University in 2011. Grounded in the royal family tradition, Jayavardhan still believes in traditional customs and arranged marriages.

Their marriage was solemnised in Dumaria- the ancestral home of the Shahis.

On Wednesday, May 27, Jaivardhan shared his reception photographs on the social networking website Facebook.

When Digviajy's daughter-in-law started touching feet of PM Modi, then he humbly told her, "you are daughter, don't touch feet".

Digvijay Singh's guru Shankaracharya also graced the function and blessed the couple.

The wedding reception was held at Ashoka Hotel on Friday, May 22.

Jaivardhan is the youngest member of Madhya Pradesh's 14th Vidhan Sabha and represents the Raghogarh Vidhan Sabha constituency.
