Petrol price hike: Amitabh Bachchan draws flak for keeping mum
Petrol price hike has created a lot of outrage among people and Twitterati took no time to fume about old tweets by few celebrities who had raged about petrol and diesel price hike during the UPA regime.
Veteran actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher and Akshay Kumar, who had openly criticised the rise in fuel prices during the Congress ruling, have remained silent on the issue now.
In 2012, Amitabh had written that Mumbaikars could just about afford enough petrol to burn their cars, while Anupam had written in a tweet the same year that thanks to the escalating petrol and diesel prices, his driver had kept his motorcycle at home as a showpiece.

The actor had reportedly criticised inflation in fuel prices when the Congress government was in power, but chosen to remain silent on the issue under Bhartiya Janata Party's ruling.
Similarly, Akshay Kumar tweeted, ''Guys, I think it's time to clean up your bicyles and hit the road! As per sources, expecting another price hike..."
Akshay created controversy by deleting his tweet on the 2012 government on the petrol price hike.
Akshay has enjoyed a good rapport with the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government ever since it came to power in 2014.
Earlier this month, actor Prakash Raj had criticized Bachchan for refusing to speak about the Kathua gang rape case. "When artistes become cowards, we will become the reason for the society to become coward," Raj told a newspaper.
