Mumbai, Dec 9: Former media tycoon and Sheena Bora murder case accused Peter Mukerjea on Friday sought the court's permission to get a laptop in jail to write his autobiography.

"I want to write an autobiography. For that I need a laptop without internet inside the jail," Mukerjea urged Special Central Bureau of Investigation Judge H.S. Mahajan during a hearing.

In his handwritten plea, he said it was very difficult to write his autobiography in long-hand. But if permitted, he could work on the laptop for four hours daily and hand it over to the jail authorities afterwards.

He added that he was 61 years old and suffered from occasional memory lapses and a laptop would be a great help to continue his work.

Mukerjea, who is custody since the past 13 months, also sought the Special Court's permission to travel to Bengaluru to attend the upcoming wedding of his niece.

The CBI is likely to submit its reply to both applications by Mukerjea on December 14.

Mukerjea, his wife Indrani, her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna and former driver Shyamwar Rai are the prime accused in the gruesome murder of Sheena Bora, who was Indrani's daughter from a previous marriage, in April 2012.

While Indrani, Khanna and Rai were arrested in August 2015, Mukerjea was taken into custody in November last year.

Earlier this year, Rai turned an approver in return for a pardon in the case.

The Special Court is likely to start hearing arguments on framing of charge in the sensational case from December 19.
