Pathankot attack: Punjab SP, Salwinder Singh sacked
The order retiring him was signed by Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh last Saturday.
The government ordered the premature retirement of Punjab Superintendent of Police Salwinder Singh citing 'controversial conduct, indiscipline and for bringing a bad name to the Punjab police.'
It may be recalled that Salwinder had made a claim after the Pathankot attack that he was captured by the Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists. He was questioned by the National Investigation Agency and even put through a polygraph test before being given a clean chit.
The order retiring him was signed by Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh last Saturday.Salwinder had been declared a proclaimed offender in a sexual abuse case. There were two cases registered against him following which he was suspended and lodged in the Amritsar central jail.
