BSF sleuths today nabbed a Pakistani intruder from an area close to Jalloke border outpost along the International Border in Ferozepur Sector. The intruder was identified as 32-year-old Mohammed Asif, BSF sources said.
An amount of Rs 1200 in Pakistani currency and some medicine was recovered from his possession, they said.
BSF sources say that it is unclear why he had strayed into the Indian side. He is being questioned and the truth would come out post that, the source also added.
The BSF has been on a state of very high alert following intelligence inputs suggesting that there could be large scale infiltrations. The IB has warned of a major influx by terrorists of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad who are trying to increase their numbers in Kashmir.
