Over 50 injured as private, KSRTC buses collide at Shivamogga-Sringeri road

Bengaluru, July 01: Over 50 passengers including the drivers were injured after a private bus and KSRTC bus collided at Shivamogga-Sringeri road. All injured passengers shifted to Meggan Hospital, Shivamogga.

The accident occurred when KSRTC bus was heading towards Shivamogga from Sringeri and a private bus on its way to Koppa from Shivamogga collided.

There were more than 35 passengers on the private bus and more than 45 passengers on KSRTC bus.

Tunga Nagar Police have reached the spot.

Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall over the coastal Karnataka region. The IMD has issued an orange alert in the districts for Friday and a yellow alert till 4 July.

Meanwhile, heavy rains are continuing to lash the coastal region and disrupt normal life. Incessant showers have also resulted in artificial flooding in many areas in the Dakshina Kannada district.
