Demonetisation: Only senior citizens can exchange notes at banks tomorrow
On Saturday all banks across the nation will only cater to senior citizens.
New Delhi, Nov 18: On Saturday all banks across the nation will only cater to senior citizens. This means that only senior citizens can exchange old notes for new ones tomorrow. This would be applicable to banks across the country.
Banks would function as normal, but only senior citizens can exchange old currency. However banks would remain shut on Sunday unlike the last weekend when they open.
Due to the mad rush and long queues outside ATMs and banks several senior citizens were unable to exchange currency. In a bid go ease their pain the Indian Banking Association decided to cater to senior citizens only on Saturday.
No more 'Udta Punjab' after demonetisation
The president of the association Rajiv Rishi told NDTV that there is less rush now. The banks have been working very hard. We decided not to do exchange of notes on Saturday except for senior citizens he said.
