Less than a month after OneIndia ran a campaign for Siachen braveheart Hanumanthappa Koppad's family and reminded the government of a job that Mahadevi Koppad was promised, an offer letter was rolled out on Wednesday to the martyr's wife. With the intervention of Union minister of textiles Smriti Irani, the central silk board handed over an offer for employment to 27-year-old Mahadevi Koppad on International Women's Day.

OneIndia's relentless campaign for Hanumanthappa Koppad's family and demand for a job for his wife received a massive response from the public and those in authority alike. Bengaluru MP Rajeev Chandrasekhar had appraised Union Minister Menaka Gandhi, Nirmala Seetharaman and Smriti Irani who had promised to take the matter to a logical end. Keeping up the promise, Irani's ministry rolled out an offer letter to Mahadevi Koppad.

While we are yet to get a confirmation from Mahadevi Koppad on her decision over taking up the job, we would like to thank Smriti Irani, Rajeev Chandrasekhar and Maneka Gandhi who responded to the campaign in the positive. Ensuring independence and a dignified life for his wife is the due respect we pay to Siachen braveheart Hanumanthappa Koppad.
