OMG! Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah's wrist watch is worth Rs 70 lakhs?
New Delhi, Feb 10: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah made it to news after he, reportedly, purchased a Rs 1.08 lakh worth silk sari for his wife at the inauguration of Karnataka Silk Industries Corporation (KSIC) showroom in Davanagere. But this time the reason for being in news is even more costlier.
If reports are to be believed then, former state chief minister and Janata Dal (Secular) state president HD Kumaraswamy has alleged that Siddaramaiah owns a diamond-studded watch which is worth Rs 68,56,000, and if customs duty charges are added then it is worth Rs 70 lakh. He also alleged that Siddaramaiah was wearing sunglasses valued at Rs. 2 lakh.

"In fact I have even sent the image of the same watch to Dubai, for confirming the rates of his wrist watch, " he further added.
While the Chief Minister dismissed what Kumaraswamy said by saying that he was ready to "sell the watch to anyone for Rs. 10 lakh".
In reply to this, Kumaraswamy was quoted as saying, "Do I own a scrap shop. If I owned a scrap shop then I could have bought that watch for whatever value he intends to sell. Personally I do not care as to whether he wears a Rs 50 lakh watch or a Rs two crore watch, but why does the CM project he is a Lohia follower and a socialist when he has such expensive taste?"
