Now get petrol delivered at your doorstep
Petrol products may be door delivered to consumers only on pre booking.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas on Friday said that they have planned to deliver petrol at consumers' door step. The new initiative will help deliver petrol at the consumer's doorstep in order to save the valuable time. However, petrol products may be delivered to consumers only on pre booking. This way it would help consumers save the time from the hectic rush at the fuel stations.
In a series of tweets, the Petroleum Ministry tweeted,''Options being explored where petrol products may be door delivered to consumers on pre booking. This would help consumers avoid spending excessive time and long queues at fuel stations.''
Earlier on Thursday, the petrol ministry had denounced the decision of a section of petrol pumps operators, mostly in South India, to keep outlets shut on Sundays, saying such a move will inconvenience the general public.
Southern states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Puducherry, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, parts of Karnataka - mostly around Bengaluru - and some areas of Maharashtra, especially Mumbai, may see petrol pump owners down their shutters on Sundays beginning May 14 to press for higher commission on petrol and diesel they sell.
