Non-bailable warrant against Hardik Patel for vandalising BJP MLA's office
In 2016, BJP MLA Rishikesh Patel's car was pelted stones at while passing through ITI Circle in Mehsana's Visnagar city.
Visnagar Session Court on Wednesday issued an arrest warrant against Patidar community Hardik Patel and Lalji Patel over vandalism in BJP MLA Rishikesh Patel's Office. The warrant comes on a day when the Election Commission announced the schedule for Gujarat Assembly election 2017.
Emphasising that the non-bailable warrant did not affect him, Hardik Patel told The Quint that it would instead brew trouble for the BJP.
Hardik Patel, said, "I want them to arrest me. Let them come and arrest me. Once they put me behind bars, it will be fun. It works in my favour if they come after me."
In 2016, BJP MLA Rishikesh Patel's office in Visnagar was attacked by agitators in July 2015 as well during the height of Patidar quota agitation. His car was also pelted stones at while passing through ITI Circle in Mehsana's Visnagar city.
Visnagar was one of the nerve-centres of Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti -led agitation for reservations for the Patel community then.
