No transgender jobs in Air India: SC seeks government’s reply
The court has given the ministry four weeks time to respond.
The Supreme Court has issued notices to the Civil Aviation ministry among on a petition by transgenders which alleged that they were not considered for airline jobs.
The petitioners said that 400 posts were advertised by the ministry in Air India, but not a single person from their community got a job. The court has given the ministry four weeks time to respond.
The petitioners also said that a transgender who had worked as a ground staff for a private agency in an airport too was not considered for the job.
