In what may be a first, Biplab Mondal who is a student of Class XII, at Arongghata Hajrapur School in West Bengal's Ranaghat, appeared for the higher secondary examination with his parents.
Biplab's father is a farmer and mother is a homemaker. Over the past three years, the family has been preparing for the exams where Biplab plays teacher to his parents.
According to reports, Biplab's parents have cleared the Madhyamik exams in 2014 and 2015 respectively, before enrolling in the school. It wasn't easy for them, because of their age many schools refused to admit them. However, after being convinced of their seriousness towards education, the school headmaster finally relented.
The family lives in a house made of mud and bamboos with a tin roof. Biplab's parents have worked against all the odds to pursue their studies, and have become an inspiration to others.
