Patna, Aug 17 : Bihar assembly election is not too far. Ahead of the assembly polls in the state, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar started his campaigning to woo the voters.

The CM's statement surfaced days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's announcement in which the latter promised to provide electricity to 18,000 villages across the country.

Electricity has been one of key points, which got special mentions in Modi's speech whenever he has visited Bihar in recent times.

Modi criticized the failure of the state government to provide electricity to all village. Recalling Nitish Kumar's previous statement during 2012 assembly elections, Modi said, "If he (Nitish Kumar) fails to improve electricity condition then he would not come to seek vote in 2015 election."

However, this time Nitish Kumar claimed to be confident to achieve his target (providing electricity to 4,000 villages) within next 14 months.

Countering Modi's criticism, Nitish Kumar accused the central govt of not providing enough financial assistance to boost electricity supply in the state.
