Navjot Singh Sidhu is in trouble yet again over his appearance on the comedy program The Kapil Sharma Show.
Punjab Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu who is already in the eye of the storm over his work in the comedy show is in trouble yet again over his appearance on the comedy program The Kapil Sharma Show.
A petition filed by HC Arora, a senior advocate, in the Punjab and Haryana High Court has now raised the question of propriety and moral issue. He even wrote to Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh seeking that Sidhu be asked to quit the show as he is a minister in the Punjab Cabinet.
The petitioner has pointed out Sidhu's vulgar jokes and obscene dialogues from the episode that was aired on April 8. The petitioner has said that while Sidhu must apologise for the jokes and also restrain him from working in TV show
The Punjab High Court has made a strong observation against Sidhu over his weekly appearance on a comedy show on television - The Kapil Sharma Show - despite being Minister in the Punjab cabinet.
"Everything is not about law, but what about propriety and morals? If a minister is not following service rules, how can he make his juniors follow it," asked the Court.
Sidhu, who is facing criticism over his appearance on TV despite being a minister, had said that what he does outside his office should be nobody's business. He had further said that to work in TV, he would fly down to Mumbai at 6 pm and be back before anybody wakes up. He had said that he would balance his work as a minister as well as his television stint.
