Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony: Food menu, guest list and more details!

New Delhi, May 25: The swearing- in ceremony of the Prime Minister designate Narendra Modi on Monday evening will be followed by a "grand dinner".

According to a report, the food menu consists largely of vegetarian food, but keeping in mind the foreign leaders, non- vegetarian food will also be served.

Here is the food menu for tomorrow's PM oath- taking ceremony: dhokla, rasgulla, rajbhog, kachauri, imarti, mattar ki khasta potli, patties, sandwiches, cookies, khandvi, cutlets, vegetarian hariali kababs, cold drinks, tea, coffee and a variety of mouth- watering non- vegetarian snacks.

75 foreign dignitaries to attend Modi's swearing-in

The BJP Overseas Affairs said that 75 of the 90 foreign dignitaries it invited from across the world have confirmed they will join in at Modi's swearing-in ceremony.

"We had sent invitations to 90 dignitaries, which include non-resident Indians, people of Indian-origin and others," Vijay Jolly, global convenor of the BJP Overseas Affairs, told IANS.

Overseas Affairs is an arm of the the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and maintains contact with people and political parties abroad.

Dignitaries from Norway, Russia, Ukraine, Nigeria, Kenya, Taiwan, Guyana, Denmark, Israel, Australia, and Hong Kong, among others, will attend the ceremony.

The swearing-in ceremony of Modi will be attended by nearly 3,000 guests, including top leaders from SAARC bcountries like Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Mauritius Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam will also attend the event Monday.

Outgoing Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress President Sonia Gandhi and party Vice President Rahul Gandhi, besides leaders of various other parties and chief ministers of a number of states will also be attending the function in the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Modi's mother Hiraben is also expected to attend the ceremony.

Modi to visit Rajghat

Meanwhile, Modi will also visit Rajghat at 7 am on Monday to pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi ahead of being sworn in as the 15th Prime Minister, official sources said today.

Modi to shift to 7 Race Course

Modi will shift to 7 Race Course Road after taking oath as India's 15th prime minister on Monday, informed sources have said.

The sources said that Modi, who will take oath at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, will move from the presidential palace to his official residence, around three kilometres away.
