New Delhi, Nov 15: Despite receiving notices from the Election Commission (EC), Congress and BJP continue their dirty politics ahead of the crucial assembly elections in five states -- Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Mizoram.

A day after Narendra Modi's statement on Sonia Gandhi, Congress spokesperson in Delhi -- Meem Afzal called Modi a "sick beast'. Turning up to the micro-blogging site Twitter, Afzal tweeted, "Only a beast in the disguise of a human can taunt over somebody's illness. It is evident that he is mentally sick."

Afzal's criticism surfaced just hours after Modi's statement in which he taunted Congress President and her son Rahul Gandhi during an election campaign in Chhattisgarh.

The PM candidate of BJP attended election campaign in the poll-bound state on Thursday, Nov 14. Addressing a rally, the Gujarat CM asked Mrs Gandhi to hand over her responsibilities to her son as she is "sick".

Party members of Sonia Gandhi, who visits abroad frequently over her reported "illness", did not take Modi's criticism lightly. He was quoted as saying, "Madam, you are ill. Let the shehzada take over".

Modi also said, "Madam (Sonia Gandhi) and Shehzada (Rahul Gandhi) came here, and said ‘we gave money' (to the Chhattisgarh government)."

Taking a jibe at the Congress leaders, Modi added, "I want to ask the Shehzada, did the money come from his ‘Mama's (maternal uncle's) house?"

Replying to Modi's criticism, Congress senior leader Jagdambika Pal said, "When Mr Modi talks of the development of Gujarat, where does that money come from? His nana (grandfather)?"

Both Modi and Rahul recently received notices from the EC regarding their aggressive speeches during poll campaigns. Both of them have been warned to check their words.
