There have been several questions raised over the details of the Naga peace pact signed recently between the NSCN(IM) and the Government of India.

Naga accord: All eyes on Camp Hebron

The 69th Naga Independence Day which is celebrated on August 14th will be presided over Thuingaleng Muivah, the founder of the NSCN(IM). The celebrations will be held at the Camp Hebron which is the headquarters of the outfit.

Will details of the pact be spelt out?

Ever since the peace pact was signed between the NSCN (IM) and the government of India, there have been questions raised about the details of the same. Both the NSCN (IM) and the government of India had only said that the pact aims at long lasting peace and also would attempt to remove contentious issues on the Naga issue.

While Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to spell out some of the details of the pact during his Independence Day address on August 15th, the same is expected of Muivah too. Muivah who is also the Prime Minister of the Government of the People's Republic of Nagalim or the GPRN is expected to spell out the modalities of the deal.

There are various factions fighting for the Naga cause and it is to be seen how all of them would be brought on board in the peace process.

Muivah is expected to address all these issues during his address on August 14th at Camp Hebron which would be attended by several thousand people. He would also make clear about the long standing demand of a Greater Nagaland. There have been questions raised about the demand for a Greater Nagaland in the wake of this peace pact being signed.
