Bengaluru, Sept 24: Joining the ban-spree in the country, a young Muslim boy now filed a petition urging the government to ban vegetables ahead of Bakr-Eid.

While drafting his unconventional petition on change.org, Bengaluru based filmmaker Falah Faisal wrote, "As a Muslim, I'd like to call for a ban across the country on vegetables of all kinds of Bakr-Eid (September 25,2015). Because plants have feelings too."

Leaving a message for all vegetarians, Faisal wrote, "If you are someone who is a vegetarian who doesn't eat anything but the offshoot of plants, I bet you can starve for a day. Fasting is good for you. We do it for a month every year."

The petition filed by Faisal has received more than 1148 endorsements till Thursday, Sept 24 and needs only 352 more signs, so that it can reach to its goal.

Faisal filed the petition to show his protest against the beef ban ahead of Bakr-Eid. In the petition, he also wrote, "If the demand of banning vegetable consumption is unreasonable my alternative demand is that everyone in the country, irrespective of religious beliefs partakes in the consumption of mutton (biryani) on that day. You can come over to my house. I don't mind sharing. We have lots."

Surprisingly, Faisal's petition received support from some vegetarians as well. One of the supporters wrote, "Although being a pure vegetarian, I am signing this petition because I am of the view that the recent meat ban imposed by the Government is totally uncalled for and represents injustice."
