Mumbai: Couple pushes elderly man in front of local train; dies
In yet another shocking incident, an elderly man who is in his 60s was allegedly pushed by the couple in front of a running train in Mulund station on Saturday in Mumbai.
The entire incident happened between 2pm to 2:30pm was recorded in CCTV installed at the station. It is learnt that the couple pushed the man on to the tracks following a dispute.
The victim has been identified as Deepak Chamanlal Patwa, was a resident of Mulund (West) and ran a business of selling iron.
The video footage shows how the Deepak got engaged in a verbal spat with the couple. Within seconds, the man pushed Deepak infront of the incoming local train.
Meanwhile, the Kurla government railway police (GRP) has registered a murder case against an unidentified couple that allegedly pushed a 56-year-old man in front of a moving train.
Deepak is survived by his wife and son, a CA who works for a prominent audit firm. They, while claiming the body, alleged that though they told the police that the death looked suspicious, the GRP delayed in procuring the CCTV footage.
